I am a Sri Lankan journalist, on hiatus, pursuing a Master's in International Relations and a Diploma in Modern Arabic. I am also currently a participant in the Doha Debates Ambassador Programme run by Qatar Foundation, and a virtual mobile journalism training programme conducted by CNN Academy.
In 2025, I became the first Sri Lankan to be awarded a research fellowship at the Al Jazeera Media Network in Doha.
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Broadcasting and Journalism, and bring six years of professional experience in news reporting and production. I have worked in both print and broadcast media in Sri Lanka, and contributed stories to media outlets with global audiences such as Al Jazeera English, VICE, Mongabay, and The New Arab.
My primary skills include news reporting and production, researching, debating, conducting interviews, and critical analysis.
Drawing insights from my academic background and professional experience, I aspire to continue to tell stories that matter, hold those in power to account, and contribute to conversations on national and international politics.
